There is a new trend that is being observed in Tollywood and this seems to be sending a wrong signal to the trade pundits. Well, it is said that the budgets of film making, especially big banners, have been going exorbitant and a question has risen as to how justified it will be in terms of box office returns. This is happening after the mega blockbuster ‘Magadheera’. Apparently, the film was made at a budget of Rs 34 crores and we now hear that a line up of movies is in that bracket. There is ‘Adurs’ being made at Rs 33 crores, ‘Komaram Puli’ at Rs 35 crores, ‘Mr Perfect’ at Rs 40 crores. Now, the analysts say that setting such high standards in terms of budget is going to make things difficult if one has to make profits. While there are those who say that this goes to show the strength of the industry, given the Tollywood economics of hits and flops, the figures are causing a concern. |
