Ace cinematographer and producer S Venkata Ratnam died at his residence in Vijayawada on Thursday. He had one son but passed away few years back due to kidney failure.
S Venkata Ratnam became more popular as a producer of ‘Yamagola’ starring NT Rama Rao and Jayapradha in 1975. Later he produced the same flick in Hindi with the title ‘Lok Paralok’ followed by few more films like ‘Kaala Yamudu’, ‘Naa Desam’, ‘Ajeyudu’ etc. His first film as cinematographer was ‘Vijayasimha’ starring Kanta Rao. The cameraman who later turned producer, also produced films like ‘Andharu Dongale’ and ‘Iddaru Iddare’ with the association of Jagapathi banner.
We pray for S Venkata Ratnam’s soul to rest in peace.
