There was a time when the storywriters were more like the unsung heroes and it was only the stars who got the credit. But now, with awareness regarding the technical aspects and crew, even the storywriters have been getting their share of recognition and remuneration as well. Apparently, the ruling storywriters are Vakkantham Vamsi who is said to be getting Rs 30 lakhs, Janardana Maharshi Rs 15 lakhs, Marudhuri Raja Rs 25 lakhs, Trivikram Srinivas Rs 3 crores including direction and last but not the least J K Bharavi around Rs 30 lakhs along with others. These figures have been quoted by sources and may be more. Incidentally, all the writers happen to be Brahmins and it is more of a coincidence to see the top minds of Tollywood belonging to this community. Some say that be it Tollywood or any other field, it is a common feature to see this community at places that require loyalty, hard work, intelligence and integrity.
