For the first time in his career spanning more than 30 years, veteran South Indian super star Mammootty will be the chief guest of the concluding session and valedictory function of the prestigious International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. Normally, only Bollywood stars are bestowed this honour by the organisers. Mammootty's two finest movies Kutty Sranku and Pazhassi Raja will also be screened at IFFI.
Veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman inaugurated the 40th edition of IFFI on Monday by lighting the lamp at a glittering function. Often referred to as the 'India's Cannes' for its mix of world and Indian cinema, the IFFI offers nearly 300 films over ten days.
