There have been many movies based on rags to riches concept. The latest trend is finding a pearl from the slums. ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ has been so successful that the trend continues now in Indian movie industry also. Accordingly the lover boy Siddharth plays a role of a carom champion who hails from the slums in Mumbai in the Bollywood flick titled ‘Striker’. With Padma Priya and Vidya Malvade as leading ladies, the film has Anupam Kher and Seema Biswas in prominent roles. There are altogether seven soundtracks and six music directors provided musical scores. They are Vishal Bharadwaj, Amit Trivedi, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Swanand Kirkire, Shailendra Kumar and rap artist Blaaze. Directed by Chandan Arora, ‘Striker’ is also being dubbed in Telugu by Indira Films banner and both versions are scheduled to release on February 5th.
‘Striker’ is Siddhu’s second flick in Bollywood after the block buster film ‘Rang De Basanthi’.
