Udayabhanu- Horrible Without Make Up

The famous adage that a Woman is woman’s enemy may be old but even today, it finds its application. The classic example for this is regarding the buzz about the hot small screen sizzler Udayabhanu. Apparently, her name is enough to stir the loins of many men.
True to her sex appeal, there was a get together that took place at a famous star hotel and this comprised of TV folks and civilians as well. During the party, a group of gents were praising about the hot looks of Bhanu and how she manages to generate a strong oomph factor.
This was overheard by an adjoining group of women among them who commented that the men must see Udayabhanu without make up. They added that she looks horrible and also stated that she is just a package of powder and padding. Well, the men find that hard to believe but what is your call on this folks. Well, should men take that as words from jealous women?

'Rocket Singh' Telugu Remake With Allari Naresh

The lean and lanky Allari Naresh is one hero who has been known for his versatility and he has a strong appeal in comedy as well as character roles as well. Now, the Tollywood movie makers are casting their eye on Bollywood releases and they want to get Naresh into the lead role.

Now, the grapevine making rounds in Tollywood is that the Bollywood movie ‘Rocket Singh- Salesman of the year’ has got a critical acclaim and the makers here want to do the Telugu version and that too with Allari Naresh as the hero. However, there could be few changes in the script to suit the Telugu audience.

Naresh is currently busy with the arrival of his new movie ‘Sambho Siva Sambho’ along with Ravi Teja, and he is said to be playing a meaningful role in this one. If ‘Rocket Singh’ works at the box office in Tollywood, then this would open up a new avenue for cult movies and Naresh would get a new image.

ANR's Confused Statements About 'Drinking'

The legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao has often been known for his self discipline and strict approach. However, one issue seems to have confused those who have been following his statements. That is ANR’s stand towards alcohol and drinking.

In an interview given to ABN-AJ channel, ANR has reportedly said he never drank and once friends forced him during his younger days but he just acted like he had. Much before that, in one speech, he recalled about someone asking his health secret and revealed that after his bypass surgery, doctor prescribed a permissible amount of alcohol and that’s what keeps him fresh and healthy looking.

Before that, in one of the interviews for the Eenadu supplement, ANR maintained that he never drank or even smelled alcohol. All this has confused many and though they are trying to figure it out, the industry folks say that they know ANR’s brand and comment as to why he has to bluff at this age.

Tollywood bigwigs to meet TRS chief KCR

Abadly bruised and battered Tollywood is mustering courage to pick up the threads in the New Year though conditions are as adverse as they have been in the last one month.

Ironically, a fresh beginning is sought to be made in the Telangana region by releasing a film the title of which carries the name of United Andhra protagonist Chiranjeevi. On January 1, the film 'Maa Naana Chiranjeevi' is all set to be released in at least 22 theatres in Hyderabad. The film is directed by P A Arun Prasad, who had directed Chiranjeevi's brother Pawan Kalyan in 'Thammudu'. "It is indeed risky in the given circumstances but we have to face the situation," said Natti Kumar who has bought the distribution rights of the film starring Jagapathi Babu.

Trying to leave behind the traumatic times of the last few weeks, another movie titled 'Yugalageetham' is also sought to be released on January 1. With Tollywood's big heroes out of action not having any releases so far this year, Hollywood films have become runway hits. Interestingly, all this comes in the midst of the Maoists' call for bandh on Jan 2 and Telangana protagonists' plan to hold a massive youth demonstration on Jan 3.

Bigwigs of Toolywood are trying to meet TRS leader K Chandrasekhar Rao to explain how the industry as a whole was getting hit. "The issue is not about films of some people being disrupted. The larger issue is that thousands of people involved in the industry, including those in the Telangana region, are suffering," said V V Balakrishna Rao, president, A P Film Chamber of Commerce.

Udayabhanu earns more in nights than day

Sexy looks but homely appearance, long legs but beautiful face, lean body but mesmerizing voice…that’s enough to describe our TV’s most famous anchor Udayabhanu.

It is amazing news and even known to many that Udayabhanu’s anchoring is just enough to decide the success and TRP ratings of a game show or a live chat show. Gossipmongers in filmnagar are murmuring about the daily revenue of Udayabhanu based on her remuneration for each episode of anchoring. Udayabhanu is gossiped to be normally demanding an amount of Rs.25, 000 to Rs.50, 000 per episode if it is in the morning shift.

If any director willing to spend night with Udayabhanu in directing few more episodes, it would be mandatory to pay Rs.75, 000 to even up to 1 lakh. Overall Udayabhanu revenue comes to nearly 1.5 to 2 Lakhs per day. That is more than an average heroine income in Tollywood.

Rosaiah, a failed politician, frightens Tollywood

When K Rosaiah was the Finance Minister in the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy cabinet, everybody used to admire him for his witty retorts against the opposition parties, particularly Telugu Desam Party. There used to be appreciation even from the media gallery in the assembly.

But after becoming the Chief Minister, the same person looks completely pale and his remarks are being received with a pinch of salt. Media persons are getting irritated at his irresponsible statements and meaningless retorts.

On Wednesday, Rosaiah hurriedly called for a press conference in the afternoon to condemn the attacks on Telugu film industry by the pro-Telangana agitators. “One can understand if the Telangana agitators stopped screening of films of Allu Arjun, because his father Chiranjeevi had opposed Telangana. But why did they attack the shootings of Mahesh Babu and Jr NTR? Did they or their fathers say anything against Telangana?” he asked.

This has created an impression that Rosaiah was not opposing the attacks on the films of Allu Arjun films or Mohan Babu. It appears he was creating a scare in the Telugu film industry by indirectly referring to its threat to go back to Chennai.

On Tuesday night, too, Rosaiah made a similar statement on the flight of capital from industrial sector in Hyderabad. Being the head of the state, his responsibility is to instil confidence among the industrialists and film makers, but not to scare them. Nor should he oppose the Telangana agitation on the pretext of slowdown of industrialisation. He has to behave like a statesman. Unfortunately, Rosaiah proved a failure in this aspect.

Shriya's Nude Photos In Circulation

Her name is enough to create a tsunami in the hearts of many men and her looks are sufficient to shake the trousers of all and create an earthquake. She is none other than Shriya and right now, she is the hot topic of discussion for a rather kinky but unfortunate reason.

Apparently, grapevine says that while posing for a film magazine cover page draped in a bathtowel, Shriya’s towel dropped down and the photos clicked. Though measures were immediately taken to censor all those, somehow they got leaked and right now, the nude pictures are said to be making hot circulations.

Those who have seen the stills say that Shriya is looking no less than a sex goddess and with her sculpted body and silky skin, she has raised the mercury levels to an alarming level. The nude photos are said to be in major circulation through the internet but there are those who quash these stills as morphed creations.

Telangana Brothers Concentrate On Ways To Achieve Telangana - NTR

Jr.NTR suggests to telangana agitators by reacting to the attack on his Birndhavanam shoot a couple of days back in Old city, Hyderabad.

He advised that “If you want separate Telangana state, you need to put pressure on the central Government. Attacks on shootings will not help you to achieve Telangana.

We know how to do our shootings securely. Attacks on shootings hurts fans feelings as well as affect the revenue of the state since, we stop film shootings in AP and shift to another place and if the fans starts reacting to the attacks on heroes, then the circumstances may get even worse.

So, I’m requesting my Telangana brothers to concentrate on ways to achieve Telangana rather than attacking the film shootings,” said Jr.NTR.

I dream to work with Kamal: Hansika

Hansika Motwani hardly few films old in Tollywood plan to enter into Kollywood soon. Almost all the Tollywood actresses already made their debut in Kollywood. Now, Hansika is eagerly waiting for her turn. Once, an actress get enough exposure in Tolly & Kollywood then, she is all set to fly to Bollywood the final destination for any actress. Sometimes heroines may begin their career at Kollywood and later proceed to Tollywood. But, their ultimate destination would be Bollywood, if possible Hollywood.

Hansika Motwani, who is ready with her upcoming film ‘Sitaramula Kalyanam’ with hero Nitin , is eagerly waiting for a call from Kollywood. In the mean time she starts sending formal signals to Kollywood producers about her interest. Recently, she told the media that she dreams to work with Kamal Hassan and Rajanikanth. Any actress who plans to enter Kollywood will say the same thing. Now, Hansika Motwani also did the same thing. It’s learnt that she already got some offers from Kollywood, but whoever offers her chance in Kollywood asks her to pair with new heroes and certainly not her dream boys Kamal or Rajani.

Is it not too early to expect to pair with such big heads in the very beginning of her career in Kollywood?

Ilayaraja returns with Oum Shanthi

In recent times, maestro Ilaiyaraaja has returned with a bang with continuous projects not just in Tamil, but in various languages. Now, the maestro's Telugu venture Oum Shanthi has been released.

There are six tracks in this album, each tuned in different genres. ‘Chinna Polikey’ is the most delightful melody with three versions by Kunal Ganjawala and Sunidhi Chauhan crooning to the lyrics of Ananth Sriram. The track ‘Moon’ has some enjoyable lyrics by Vanamali in Priya's voice.

'Otesi Cheputha' rendered by Karthik is pretty street-smart and catchy. The title track ‘Oum Shanthi’ is the most effective and sounds like a signature theme.

Priyamani speaks on her career

Paruthiveeran actress Priyamani is currently busy with Sambo Siva Sambo, the Telugu remake of Tamil hit Naadodigal,an important film in her career. “The role I am playing has no glamour scenes. But nobody is talking about it,” she says.

Apart from Sambo Siva Sambo, Priyamani is acting in two other Telugu ventures and one Kannada film. “I am open to offers in Tamil too. But the character should be meaty,” she says.

But the actress seems to be clear about one thing -- the dress code. Priyamani says she can’t say no when filmmakers ask her to wear skimpy costumes to add glamour to a particular song or scene. “One has to be professional when it comes to work. Acting is my career. I am pursuing it with passion. And I can’t refuse the professional demands of my director," she opines.

"Moreover, there is nothing wrong in wearing a bikini or other skimpy attires, as many of my predecessors have set a trend in it. Most actresses ranging from Aishwarya Rai to Bipasha Basu have appeared in bikinis. Even yesteryear stars like Saroja Devi and Padmini had acted in contemporary revealing outfits,” she continues.

Shahrukh and bodyguards rescue Asin

Ghajini star Asin had King Khan coming to her rescue when she was caught in a difficult and awkward situation at a Mumbai event recently. Around 300 lewd persons, who posed themselves as the actress' fans, tried to mob around Asin, who was helpless.Least did they realize that Shah Rukh was also to the event, with his six well-built security guards.

In no time, SRK came to the rescue of the Southern actress and helped her wriggle free of the gang of 300.The timely intervention of SRK and his body guards finally helped her feel relieved. Asin being a popular face, having acted opposite Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in her two Bollywood films, should think of getting out with her own security next time onwards.

Rahman to perform at Sydney Festival

The Mozart of Madras will perform at the Sydney Festival on 16th January 2010. The event is Australia’s prevalent annual arts festival that brings in a wide range of Australian and international show.

The New South Wales Government in conjunction with Sydney Festival will host the event from January 9th to 30th at Parramatta Park.

Leader on rising expectations

The much awaited Mickey J. Meyer-Sekhar Kammula duo is back with Leader. Expectations are definitely high afterHappy Days which rocked all the charts. Though not a total disappointment, Leader'smusic definitely borders on the mediocre.

The album has six songs and one instrumental. Lyrics are by Dr. Veturi Sundararamamurthy. The first track 'Maa Telugu Talliki' is a good peppy number with atmospherically inspiring orchestration.

'Avunana Kadana' is pleasant and delightful; Naresh Iyer and Shwetha Pandit have crooned the romantic song to good effect; 'Vandemataram' is an average song rendered by Nakash Aziz who instills life into it. 'Rajasekhara', a stage drama like track resembles 'Kajra re'. 'Hey CM' by Sunita Sarathy is nice.

Mickey makes excellent use of the harmonic vocals of Krishna Chaitanya, Siddharth, Kranthi, Sashi Kiran and Aditya in 'Sreelu pongina'.

Nitin Gets Benefit As Telangana Hero?

Nitin, Hansika starrer ‘Seetharamula Kalyanam’ is going to be release for Sankranthi. With the storyline of self-respect, forming a crucial aspect of the T-agitation, Nitin, the only recognizable star who hails from the region could stand good benefit for Pongal.

The actor, who hails from Nizamabad district, has the film to be released in January 2010. The successive flops-battered star need not worry for competition from ‘Kedi’, ‘Namo Venkatesha’ and ‘Shambo Shiva Shambo’, or from ‘Kalavar King’ or ‘Prasthanam’.
Telugu Movie News

The exhibitors and distributors are expecting good openings for the film as they are sure that this film will be the only one in fight in the initial weeks when the issue of telangana is unlikely to get subsided.

Kajal Agarwal Into Bollywood

The pretty actress Kajal Agarwal is going on high in her career since the release of Ramcharan Teja’s lead role film ‘Magadheera’.

Media reports that, the crazy actress of tollywood is all set to enter Bollywood too in which she would repeat her role in the Hindi remake of ‘Magadheera’, in which Hrithik Roshan would replace Ramcharan Teja.

But the actress said that she has been getting feelers from various quarters about her willingness to take up the project. But as she has not directly approached by the production house, she doesn’t want to confirm it.

'No Film Shootings' In Telangana Districts!!!

Well, if there was a separate Telangana state to be formed then this is also one factor that they must consider. Apparently, the recent attacks on the big names of the film industry and their establishments have sent a very negative wave among them and here is the result of that.

It is heard that the movie makers have decided not to do their shootings in Telangana since they are feared that they would be attacked and property losses will happen. The incidents at Mahesh Babu’s film set and Allu Arjun’s movie were clean examples for that. Even NTR Jr’s shooting was not spared.

Ironically it is not just the hero, even if the background such as the producers or the directors is from Telangana, the hysteric activists are not hesitating to burn down their equipment and cause mayhem. It now looks like development for the film industry is a bit in shambles.

Tempers Rising Over 'Adhurs' Release

The film ‘Adhurs’ was meant to be the most talked about movie of the season and it was originally slated to be a Christmas release. However, the outrageous attacks by the Telangana activists have caused lot of mayhem and this has disrupted the entire flow of the films for the season.

Now, there is news that many film buffs in different parts of the state including Telangana region are irked up with the whole thing and are waiting to see when ‘Adhurs’ will release. Even NTR jr is said to be upset about the issue since nothing is being known for sure.

Huge money is at stake for the distributors and many are hoping that the film should release before January 7th. The makers are said to be urging the government to take strong measures against the TRS goons over these mindless acts as this is leading to huge losses everywhere.

According to industry information, arrangements have been made to release the film with more than 900 prints — 200 more than ‘Magadheera.’ Sources said the distributors have put in huge money on ‘Adhurs’ expecting huge returns during the festival season.

While Magadheera was reported to have been sold out for Rs 1.5 crore in Krishna district and Rs 2.1 crore in Guntur, Adhurs went for Rs 1.8 crore in Krishna and Rs 2.3 crore in Guntur districts.

“The distributors are very worried with the continued postponement of the film release as stakes are high. Their main worry is the impending losses if the film is not released before the festive season,” said former Film Censor Board member Jonnalagadda Ramchandra Sastry.
