On the eve of winning The National Award for the film ‘1940 Lo Oka Gramam’, the film’s unit organized a press meet on Sunday at Hyderabad. In this press meet hero Baladitya, heroine Sriramya and director Narasimha Nandi expressed their happiness and views about the film.
Director Narasimha Nandi said, “I never expected that this film would get three Nandi awards. But now it has gone a step ahead by winning the National Award too. I have no words to say. It took about one year to form the script. Even though we faced lot of problems while making this flick, somehow, we have succeeded in completing it. Since it is an offbeat film with a message we found no takers. But these awards are giving us full satisfaction and encouragement for all our efforts and hard work that we have put in.”
“Getting a National Award for our film is most unforgettable moment in life. The role I played has helped me to prove a good actor in me”, said hero Baladitya.
Heroine Sriramya said, “I tonsured my head only for the role I played in this film. I’m really lucky to do one such role in my life.”
‘1940 Lo Oka Gramam’ won the Best Regional Film (Telugu) Award in the 56th National Films Awards for the year 2008.
