This Is It rocks worldwide at box office

Legendary pop singer Michael Jackson's musical entertainment movie This Is It, directed by Kenny Ortega and produced by Randy Phillips, Kenny Ortega and Paul Gongaware, has become the fifth biggest film of the year by making a massive 101 million dollars at the international box office in its first five days.

Box office figures show that this behind-the-scenes concert film  pulled in 32.5 million dollars in the US alone. This was boosted by a further 68.5 million dollars taken at screenings outside America. According to sources, with the amazing performance of the movie at the box office, the distributor Sony has extended the movie’s screening beyond the planned two-week run.

"He’s just loved everywhere on the planet. It doesn’t matter if it’s Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, South America. Every continent in the world loved him and his music," said Rory Bruer, head of distribution for Sony of Michael Jackson. This Is It was released worldwide on 28 October.
