
The Punjagutta police (Hyderabad) have registered a cheating case against producer Bellamkonda Suresh following the directions of a local court in connection with a private complaint by a financier Pradeep Choudhary who alleged that Suresh duped him of huge amounts, allegedly to purchase rights to remake a Malayalam movie in Telugu. The police said they are yet to interrogate the producer to ascertain the facts.
In another incidednt, the Central Crime Station (CCS) officials registered a criminal case under criminal conspiracy, cheating and forgery against veteran Telugu actor G. Krishna, his brother and five others following the direction of a local court in connection with a private complaint. The complainer P.S.S. Anand claims that the actor had taken a sum of rupees 14.5 lakhs from his father in 1988 for making Rajakeeyachadarangam which was later released by renaming the film and circumventing the contract.
Anand also claims that the sum was never returned despite many promises being made. He filed a civil suit for recovery of the money but the actor presented a forged consent letter of his father during the proceedings, Anand alleged.
