Mamta Mohandas, slowly climbing up the ladder

Mamta Mohandas’s new Malayalam flick ‘Anwar’ co-starring the handsome hero Prithviraj is said to be progressing at a fast pace. In this flick Mamta is portraying a Muslim girl and her role is said to be the powerful one. Prithviraj is playing the title role. The film is written and directed by Amal Neerad and produced by Rajesh Zacharias under Red Carpet Films banner. The film is likely to release by April end.

Interestingly the posters of ‘Anwar’ captured the eyes of Ameer Sultan, the National Award winning director for the Tamil film ‘Paruthiveeran’. Sources claim that the director was so much impressed with Mamta’s posters that he immediately approached her for his next film ‘Aadhi Bhagawan’ that is in pre-production. Although Mamta’s career was a slow start, it appears that she is slowly but steadily climbing up the ladder.

The actress stepped into Telugu film industry as a playback singer through ‘Shankar Dada Zindabad’ by rendering vocals to ‘Aakalesthe annam pedatha’ under Devisri Prasad’s composition and her first film as heroine was NTR’s ‘Yamadonga’. Later she did few films like ‘Homam’, ‘King’ and the recent ‘Kedi’.
