3 Idiots swept 55th Idea Filmfare Awards 2009

'3 Idiots’, the biggest hit of 2009 swept as many as six important awards at the 55th IdeaFilmfare Awards 2009. ‘3 Idiots’ won the best film, best director, best actor in supporting role, best dialogue, best story and best screenplay awards respectively. After ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Dev D’ stands next in the list of winning maximum number of awards. The most versatile actor Amitabh Bachchan won the award for Best Actor In A Leading Role – Male, for his best performance in the critically acclaimed film ‘Paa’. The natural beauty and the talented Vidya Balan also won the award for Best Actor In A Leading Role – Female, for her best performance in ‘Paa’. While Shashi Kapoor was honoured with Life Time Achievement Award, Amit Trivedi won the RD Burman Music Award and Nandita Das won a special award for her directorial debut in ‘Firaaq’.
