It’s an old movie. No one knows if black tickets were sold when it was released in 1957. But now it has bounced back in color and DTS, attracting audience more than expected. Black tickets are being sold at the theatres in Hyderabad and Vizag as per the present reports. The INOX and Prasad’s Multiplex in Hyderabad have seen houseful boards much before its actual release on first two days, it being weekend. Looking at the demand the audience are showing towards the movie, a few audience those have blocked the tickets for first day show have sold them to the craving ones. No one knows if they are actual audience or black ticket vendors dressed in branded costumes (!). The actual price of ticket is Rs 150 and it was sold at Rs 600 for INOX late night show at 10 PM. Similar cases were heard in Prasad Multiplex as well. Same applied to Vizag too. On the other hand, kids are seen getting more entertained with the movie. The present generation kids in theaters roared with laughs watching the performance of Savitri as Maya Sasirekha. Walking out of theatres, kids are heard saying, “Mummy mallee vaddaam…bagundi…hero baaga navvinchaadu..eating song baagundi..”. So we can understand that kids of 2010 have seen hero in SV Ranga Rao and his ‘vivaha bhojanamm’ entertained them fully. And at INOX theatre, for 10 PM show, a group of 10 men aged between 30 and 50 have come and sat in first row. They were silent till the first song started. As soon as they have seen NTR in Lord Krishna get up, they shouted loudly ‘NTR Zindabad..’. And for Gummadi they shouted, ‘Johar! Gummadi Venkateshwara Rao..’. People haven’t understood if they were watching ‘Mayabazaar’ or ‘Adurs’!! That is the mania, the movie is creating. And when SVR entered screen people whistled and shouted ‘annaa..iragadiyyi…’. Yes, had SVR been alive now, he would be 92 year old. That’s the fan following surrounded that character Ghatotkacha in particular. CSR’s villainy in looks in his introduction scene made the theater silent. And many got connected to the action part in the movie from then. And it is needless to say about Savitri and Chayadevi. Both have tickled audience with their most humorous performances. It’s all the response of 2010 Telugu audience of all age groups. Looking at the mania the movie is creating, it appears, slowly the movie is going to set new records across the state. Missing to watch this film in theatre is nothing but losing a life time experience of fun and ecstasy. |
