Padmasri Dr.Brahmanandam celebrated his 54th birthday yesterday. This 2010 year is a very special year for Brahmanandam because he is enjoying the success of two big films, ‘Adhurs’ and ‘Namo Venkatesa’ at one time.
This comedy king was a Telugu lecturer in a town called Attili in West Godavari district before he was introduced to the Telugu Film Industry in 1997 by writer cum director Jandhyala in ‘Aha Naa Pellanta’ starring Rajendra Prasad. With his unique facial expressions and body language he earned a different recognition from that of other comedians. That film had given him so much popularity that there was no turning back for him after that. Just by looking at him one cannot stop laughing. That’s why he is called as the ‘Comedy King’. He has almost worked with all the heroes, directors and producers from the time he entered the film industry. Brahmmu has as much power as the heroes to pull the crowd to theaters.
Dr Brahmanandam entered the Guinness Book of World Records for acting in highest number of films in 20 years. And in 2012 he would be completing his 25 years of film career. With many prestigious awards to his credit, the Government of India bestowed the coveted title of “Padmasri” in January 2009 and Acharya Nagarjuna University honoured him with the doctorate award.
So far Brahmanandam have acted in more than 850 films and the days are not far off for him to reach the four figure. On the eve of his birthday today, Ragalahari wishes Brahmanandam ‘A Very Happy Birthday’.
