So hopefully we expect another sensational block buster movie with new creativity from Puri in future.
Nayan-Prabhu Deva spotted together again
Nayantara and Prabhu Deva sitting together at the South Scope Style awards function in Hyderabad naturally drew the attention of mediapersons. When Nayan attended the recent All India Workers' Federation gala function at Chennai, she reportedly stayed in a three star hotel to avoid a confrontation with Prabhu Deva's wife Ramlath who was frantically looking for her in five hotels.
In a freewheeling chat Nayantara had with the anchor of a leading satellite channel on Diwali Day, she is now more open about their relationship. Even Prabhu Deva reportedly said that even a child knows the relevance of the tattoo on Nayantara's left hand.
Nayantara has entered Sandalwood with less roles in Tamil; she has reportedly put a few interesting Telugu offers also on hold. Prabhu Deva's stock is rising and he is most-wanted after the success of Wanted.
Nayantara is currently on holiday in her favourite destination, Dubai. Will Prabhu follow her to Dubai? Only he and the celestial Prabhu knows!

Asin faints during interview
Keeping up with the recent trend of Bollywood beauties fainting due to overwork and too much exposure to the limelight, South India beauty Asin, who has been giving nonstop interviews for her upcoming movie London Dreams, collapsed during a media event for the film at a club in Andheri. The actress was immediately rushed to hospital.
Asin later explained, "Actually, I hadn’t slept at all that day or the night before. I had been doing back-to-back interviews for London Dreams for the last one week with just 3-4 hours of sleep. On that day, there was no sleep or food at all. Anyway, I’m making up for the exhausting week with the most peaceful and happy birthday of my life."
Even though the actress maintains that she is overworked, sources say it is her fixation to get thinner that has taken a toll on her health. In September 2009, Asin was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai following an acute sinus condition. It was then reported that she had been neglecting the condition for quite some time while working round-the-clock, shooting for London Dreams.
Asin, we like you as you are! Don't risk your health for some fads!
Priyardarshan begins animation film
India's leading commercial filmmaker Priyadarshan, whose offbeat filmKanchivaramrecently won two National awards (best film and best actor), has joined hands with Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan and Thiruvananthapuram-based animation major Toonz Animation to make a Rs. 20 crore 3D animation film titledTwinergy.
Addressing reporters on the eve of Technopark-based Toonz celebrating its first decade of operations, its CEO P. Jayakumar said production of this film has commenced after completing pre-production works.
"This is a 90 minute 3D animation film in English. Bachchan cleared this story after hearing seven ideas from us. We had a three-hour discussion with him in Hyderabad where he was assisted by Abhishek and Aishwarya. The film tells the tale of a royal family, united by love and divided by misunderstanding and how they adopt twin children into their family," he said.
Priyadarshan is expected to spend a week in the Toonz studio and again join the team when the post-production work begins. The post-production will be in Mumbai because Bachchan is particular about the quality of post-production. The film will be released by Diwali next year.
Puri Jagannadh! What’s Secret Behind 10th Feb 1980?
Crazy director Puri Jagannadh has got a pattern in his style of movie making. While the multiple tracks in one story is a common feature, this time, he has arrived with another feature in his latest offering ‘Ek Niranjan’ and many seem to have noticed this. Apparently, the film has scenes which show criminals and then there is an electronic screen by the side which gives the details such as date of birth and other important details. However, all such displays showed the date of birth of different characters as 10th February 1980. This got many thinking as to why and how it is like that. While some say that it could be due to a technical thing that the same DOB is there, there are those who say that Puri has a reason for everything he does. Well, only time will reveal if this date has any link with Puri or not. |
Screen Talk: Just 3 In Arya 2
The film ‘Arya 2’ is currently in the last stages of its making and it is expected to hit the screens during late November or early December. For any movie, the success of the audio forms a crucial role and in this case, it looks like the first hurdle has already been cleared without the formal audio release itself. Apparently, three songs from the movie have already been leaked onto the internet and they have been getting a real good response. So now, there are just 3 more songs that are waiting to be heard. However, the initial mark has already been registered and it has been quite positive. Stylish star Allu Arjun is the hero while the saucy seductress Kajal Agarwal is the leading lady. The music for the film has been composed by the talented Devisri Prasad and it looks like he has scored another success in his kitty with the tunes of this movie. The official audio release is taking place on November 1st. |

Hot Hansika Lures Young Hearts
She is known as the apple pie beauty of the film fraternity and barely is she eighteen but she already has a major string of admirers not just in Tollywood but also in Bollywood. She is none other than Hansika Motwani who has the credit of scoring three back to back hits in Telugu. Her latest offering is ‘Jayeebhava’ and more than her innocent smiles and sparkling eyes, it is her oomph factor that bowled many audience. They said that this is perhaps the first time that Hansika was seen in a rather extra glossy and glamorous image. She was looking her seductive best in the songs and even the first half had her sporting some of the most trendy outfits and making her look simply adorable. If this milky beauty continues her appeal like this then she would soon be the ruling queen of Tollywood, predict the trade pundits. |
‘Jr NTR and I are best of buddies’
“It takes time to be successful and not everyone is a Hrithik Roshan, who became a star overnight. Luck too plays an important role. I’m still learning,” says Kalyan Ram, who is “amused” by rumours that claim he is “threatened” by competition from his half brother Junior NTR and that they are not on talking terms.
“Tarak and me are leagues apart. He is a mass hero and I have only done family entertainers. I know my limitations and there is no problem between us,” he says.In fact, the two are thick buddies, says Kalyan.
“We discuss our movies, locations, shots etc. I tell him all about my project and he does the same too. It is only when we are busy with our shoots, we don’t get to meet up regularly. A lot has been written about an alleged ‘rift’ between us, but we’d rather not dwell on them,” he adds.

I learnt a lot from Tollywood
"I was born in Muscat and my lifestyle is different from the one here. I learnt a lot from Tollywood. I like the way this industry works, the people are warm. Moreover, the roles are encouraging. So, I am doing more films here than elsewhere," says Sneha, who also has Kannada and Hindi films in her kitty.
Talking about the big, bad world of Bollywood, she says, "To survive in Bollywood, you need to be a lot more shrewd, smart and cold. I was just 17 when I did my first movie there. It was Tollywood that gave me a chance to prove that I can act."
Sneha is also ready to set shop here and camp in Hyderabad from now on. "I'm planning to buy a house and settle down here. It will be convenient for filmmakers too since it will save them the trouble of flying me down from Mumbai every time," she says.
She may be a current favourite, thanks to the fair skin and light-eyed fixation the industry has. But, acting has never been the forte of Ullal who is often brushed off as a expressionless "glam doll". "Yes, I have to improve on my dance, dubbing and emotional scenes," she admits. "But if someone calls me a glam doll, I'd take it as a compliment," says Sneha in her defence.
The actress also adds that she is looking for roles that are "hatke". "I've realised that my roles are getting monotonous. I have only been playing the bubbly girl, probably because of my looks. I need to meet more filmmakers to bag different roles. I'd love to play a murderer or act in horror movies," quips Sneha who admits that being an Aishwarya look-alike actually helped her at the beginning of her career.
"It did generate a lot of curiosity about me and people sat up and took notice. But it soon got tiring. I didn't like being compared with Aishwarya always. She is a senior actress and I have just started my career. When they compare me with her, there are always more expectations. Looks can just get you a role, but you have to know how to act," she says.

Mysskin's Kamal Haasan starrer titled 500 BC?
After the thumping win of Unnai Pol Oruvan(Eenadu in Telugu), Kamal Haasan is now busy with the paperwork of his next project, rumoured to be a period film which a popular Tamil magazine says is based on the story of Lord Buddha's tooth, located at the sanctuary of the Temple of Tooth in Kandy, Sri Lanka. If these reports are to be believed, this magnum opus to be directed by Mysskin has been titled 500 BC.
The legend on how the Sacred Relic of the Tooth made its way to Sri Lanka is fascinating. It says that the tooth was taken when Buddha's mortal remains were on the funeral pyre. A popular belief in Sri Lanka says that the tooth was originally with the Kalinga kings and after several wars, it finally landed in Sri Lanka.
It is still unclear whether the film would be a period one or would be interlinked with the present day situation. A few years ago, Steven Spielberg had plans to make a period film on Lord Buddha's Tooth. Rumour mills say that Kamal has gone to the US to meet with some Hollywood bosses to fund this mammoth project and will return in the first week of November.

Why Nagarjuna Silent After YSR Death?
Nagarjuna had been regularly in news till the death of YSR. He graced many film occasions and also appeared in various Ads pertaining to government. But now he is completely silent. He supported the candidature of Jagan to become CM like Super Star Krishna, Jeevitha Rajasekhar and others expressed publicly. But later he has been in oblivion. He is apparently keeping himself far from Congress and that shows his connection was only with YSR and none other. Had he been a favorite of Congress, he would have continued his journey with the party supporting it. But he is not doing that. On the other hand, no one knows why he is away from film events too. He was absent in Starnite meetings as well as Southscope Style Awards event. |
Producers Demanding Money From Kajal
This is the blunt reality in Tollywood circles as many say. Kajal, who got huge applause with the super success of the film ‘Magadheera’ has received huge attention from many producers. Looking at the demand, she also raised the remuneration to Rs 1 Cr. Many producers have given her advances but as her subsequent movie ‘Ganesh’ has bitten mud at box office, some are approaching her by demanding to pay back the advances. On the other hand, so far she acted in one Tamil film ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’, whose Telugu distribution rates have also fallen down. Kajal’s idea of ‘make hay while sun shines’ didn’t work in her favor. Only the success fills oxygen in film industry. That has proven true once again. |
