Kollywood's highly acclaimed director-actor-writer M. Sasikumar of colossalSubramaniapuram and Naadodigal fame had been on the search of a 54-year old actor for the last several weeks to perform the lead role in his forthcoming Tamil film Eesan, for which he took nearly a year to complete the script.According to latest reports, the promising filmmaker finally roped in former Producers' Council President A.L. Azhagappan (father of actor Uhaya and filmmaker Vijay of Kireedamfame) to play the role. Sasikumar is introducing two new heroines. Reports suggest they are the daughters of actor Jayaprakash, who appeared as a teacher in Sasi's Pasanga.
South Indian super star Vikram produces Eesan, which is likely to start rolling by this weekend. Unlike his previous films, Sasikumar will not make an onscreen presence in this film, which will have director Samuthirakkani enacting a prominent role. The technical team of the film comprises cinematographer Kathir and music director James Vasanthan, who have worked with Sasikumar before.
