‘I dig spicy Andhra food’: Raja
I love Andhra cuisine. Nattukodi pulusu is my all time favourite. I am fond of hot, spicy food and I find continental cuisine quite boring. On the other hand, I love Moghlai fare, especially tandoori dishes.
Some of my favourite restaurants in Hyderabad are ones which serve spicy food as they are. Often most of the upscale restaurants in the city tone down the spices to suit all palates.
However, smaller stand alone restaurants like Mirchi and Spicy Venue are great places to indulge in some Andhra fare. I also like crabs served at Dwarka, a small restaurant in Jubilee Hills. The Gongura Mamsam at Rayalseema Ruchulu is also quite yummy.
I have a big sweet tooth. I simply cannot do without desserts. Nothing makes me more upbeat than consuming a hot apple pie or gajar ka halwa, loads of chocolates and even pastries.
I binge on junk food and stuff like chocolates and chips when I am feeling low. Thankfully, I don't feel low too often!
Since I eat out quite often, I have had some weird experiences at restaurants. I think my worst experience was when I found glass particles in the food served at a five star hotel. I detected this only after chewing and realising that the food felt strangely crunchy. And I have also seen cockroaches crawl out of buffets at fine dining restaurants.
