Popular comedian-turned-hero-villain Kalabhavan Mani received the Rajan P. Dev Award, instituted by the Rajan P. Dev Puraskara Samithy and Ensquire Films in memory of late Malayalam-Tamil actor-villain Rajan P. Dev, at a function held at the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Auditorium, Thrissur on Saturday. Rajan P. Dev’s son Jubil Raj presented the award.
During the function, Kalabhavan Mani said that life was his biggest teacher. "I have missed formal education. But I have learnt from the greatest university—life." Congress leader T.V. Chandramohan, film director Babu Narayanan, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi secretary Prabhakaran Pazhassi, Kerala Sahitya Akademi secretary Purushan Kadalundi, actor Rama Devi and award ceremony organising committee general convener M.C. Thycaud were present.
