Tt's been reported to be the all-time highest grosser in the south. Soon after Magadheera stormed the box office across various south Indian states in July, news came in that the epic film would be made in Bollywood. The latest buzz is that Kajal Agarwal, who starred in the Telugu hit opposite Ram Charan Tej, might star in its Hindi remake. When BT broached the topic, Kajal initially feigned ignorance about having been approached for it. "Really! I didn't know that," she told us. After being prodded, the actress revealed that she has been getting feelers from various quarters about her willingness to take up the project. "But I haven't directly been approached or got a call from the production house. Since nothing is on paper yet, I don't want to confirm it. But yes, I'd love to be a part of it," says Kajal. The duo — Charan and Kajal — was highly commended for its portrayal of a warrior prince and princess in the film. They supposedly share similar vibes off-screen, too. So, would she like Charan to be part of the Hindi version as well? "That depends on who's directing it. It's entirely the makers' call. But I'd really like for Rajamouli who made Magadheera to call the shots — he's brilliant," shares Kajal. As for her friendship with Charan, she tells us that they're very good friends. "We were friendly on the sets and greet each other warmly whenever we meet," she says. So, are they still in touch? "Now, why would you want to know that?" asks Kajal. Right now, there are other things that are bothering her. Kajal's latest movie, Arya 2, has been targetted by Telangana activists due to its hero, Allu Arjun's uncle, Chiranjeevi's stance for a unified Andhra. "I'm not sure what's happening to the film as I'm in Chennai right now. I watched it in Hyderabad during the opening weekend and it ran to packed houses. Of course, it'd hurt any artiste if his/her film faces the brunt of such situations," says a diplomatic Kajal. Currently, the lass is busy shooting for a Tamil film with Karthi and a Telugu flick with Junior NTR. |
