Commercial films are boring: Rahul Bose

Rahul Bose said that as an actor, he is extremely bored to do commercial films, though he would not mind occasionally acting in films like Pyar Ke Side Effect.

"It is difficult to get directors like Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, who are dedicated to their craft as an art house filmmaker. Aniruddha is one of the few sensitive directors who understand cinema, because he has been a part of ad films. I enjoyed working with him not only in Anuroon, his maiden venture as a director, but also his next one Antaheen.

Talking of Antaheen, director Aniruddha said the central theme of the film was loneliness. "I have tried to create a tangible yet undefined modern space, where the fragile bond between love and loneliness can be explored. When I create a story, I think of certain moments more than the story. I was sure about the casting of each and every actor other than Radhika Apte, who is a theatre actor. I cast her in the role of Brinda after having a cup of coffee with her."

Mita Vashisht, who was part of Antaheen, said that she enjoyed working with Aniruddha. "It is a story that haunts and stays with you. I literally grabbed the offer as 35 years is considered old in Bollywood. The director is generous; he allows an actor to work on his on her scene and give his or her expression without losing his patience."
