City of Pearls hosts The Golden Elephant – 16 from Nov 14-20


Hyderabad, the city of pearls and gems is all set to host “The Golden Elephant -16” during November 14-20, 2009. Over 60 films including that of 6 UNESCO films will be competing this year for ‘The Golden Elephant’ awards. The films will be screened for public viewing at Prasad’s IMAX and city’s top 8 theaters. “The Golden Elephant – 16” also has many other interesting segments like Children’s World, Asian Panorama and International Competition.

As many foreign delegates will be attending the festival, Tollywood is planning for a sumptuous Nawabi dinner to be held on November 15th at a noble palace called “Taramati Baradari” near Gandipet lake.

This International Children’s Film Festival is jointly organized by Children’s Film Society and the Central & State Governments. The chair person of this event is Nandita Das. Chief Minister K Rosaiah will grace the opening ceremony as the chief guest.
