Vizag film festival concludes



The five-day Visakhapatnam International Film Festival, conducted by the Vizag Film Society, concluded on Thursday with the organisers determined to take it to more people in its next edition.
AP Hindi Academy Chairman Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, addressing the valedictory participants, asserted that the city would emerge as the capital of Telugu film industry in the next 25 years. He lauded the effort of late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for allotting land near Bhimunipatnam to promote films and released a souvenir brought out on the occasion.
In this festival organised in association with VUDA and Andhra University, a total of 33 films, including 11 foreign films and 17 documentaries, were screened. The festival was organised to commemorate 50 years of Federation of Film Societies of India.
