Ilayaraja's live concerts in three major cities
Music maestro Ilayaraja is planning to hold live music concerts in three major cities (Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai) along with the Hungary Symphony Orchestra. According to sources, the Mumbai concert will be held on January 26, 2010; the dates of the concerts in Delhi and Chennai are yet to be announced.
Ilayaraja has already confirmed the news about the concerts, to be organized by filmmaking couple producer Sheetal Talwar and his wife Bhavna Talwar. The maestro will play Tiruvacakam, the ancient sacred hymns at his concerts.
Ilayaraja said that concerts are not a burden. To him, composing music anywhere – whether for a film or playing at a live concert is the same. He also stated he is not a great person but his music is great. He doesn’t compose the music; it flows out of him. At present, Ilayaraja is recording for Pankaj Kapur’s Mausam in Budapest.
