Srikanth's surprises Vijayawada fans

Monday sprung a pleasant surprise for fans of Telugu actor Srikanth in Vijayawada when the actor unexpectedly visited the city with a few of his supporters apparently to promote Mahatma, his latest and 100th film that hit cinema theatres on October 9.
The actor first headed to the Raj-Yuvaraj cinema theatres at Gandhinagar and interacted with his fans to test their pulse that would ultimately spell the fate of the film. Delighted at this gesture, his fans raised slogans in his favour.
His next destination was at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi outside the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation office. To the surprise of the onlookers, the actor performed "Ksheerabhishekam" to the statue before garlanding it.
Srikanth has donned a different role in the film, a role that advocates non-violence. It sends out a strong message to the masses that Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violent path can be of relevance even in this age of corruption and deceit. Directed by Krishna Vamsi, the film attempts to project Srikanth in a different league. Staying close to his role in the film, the actor paid homage to the Father of the Nation in real life too.
