Nila: I prefer to be called Meera Chopra

In a recent interview to Galatta, Nila revealed that she likes to be called Meera Chopra. She said she was not too crazy about her own name, so when S.J. Suryah suggested a name change, because Meera Jasmine was already a known actress, she agreed. However, she just wished he had consulted with her before renaming her as Nila! She was really shocked, when during a press meet, Suryah just introduced her as Nila! But then, she says the name Nila just grew on her! Now, Nila is almost a thing of the past. Everyone calls her Meera. She prefers Meera Chopra. Sometimes, when people address her as Nila, she tells them politely that her real name is Meera Chopra. She's almost entirely back to being Meera Chopra. So, fans please note, Nila likes to be called Meera Chopra!
