The principal judge for family courts B. Ramalingam has dissolved the marriage of Prakashraj (this year's National award winning Tamil actor) and his actress-wife Lalitha Kumari. Earlier, the couple filed separate petitions agreeing to dissolve the marriage through mutual consent and reached at an out of court settlement last week. Prakashraj married Lalitha Kumari on December 25, 1994.
Originally, it was Prakashraj who sought divorce from his wife, while Lalitha Kumari opposed the dissolution. Instead, she filed a petition for reunion and also wanted monthly alimony of about Rs. 2 lakh. Last week, in a dramatic turnaround, both the actors came together and filed petitions for divorce by mutual consent.
