Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s Sakshi daily and channel had the maximum mileage at the A R Rehman musical nite at GMR arena near Shamshabad airport on Saturday.
Till the show began at 7.15 pm, Sakshi’s advertisements were projected on the big screens put up all over the ground. There were Sakshi banners everywhere. And eventually when the show began, Sakshi management ensured that Jagan played a song in memory of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, with visuals regularly being shown on Sakshi TV, are projected on the screens.
Though Rehman sang the popular patriotic song “Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamare dil me hein,” Sakshi projected as if it was written by Rehman in memory of YSR. But yes, it was a tribute for YSR; and the people later had observed two minute silence in memory of YSR and also flood victims.
It is learnt Sakshi’s general manager (advertisement) K R P Reddy, who was also present at the Rehman show, was instrumental in getting publicity to Sakshi and YSR. All for a heavy price, of course!
