Filmmakers press for single window support


Tollywood filmmakers urged the State government on Thursday to support them through a single window for total management of the logistics involved in shootings and for obtaining all permissions and clearances from various agencies and departments.
The film makers were speaking at a meeting convened by minister J. Geeta Reddy on the emerging subject of ‘Film Tourism’ with representatives of Film Producers' Associations of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in Hyderabad.
The meeting has decided to form a cell with the representatives of Tourism Department, Film Development Corporation and the Producers’ Associations to coordinate the requirements of those who wish to shoot in studios and outdoors in Andhra Pradesh. A comprehensive package would also be developed for accommodation, travel, catering, security and other needs.
Among those present were Commissioner, Information and Public Relations, C. Parthasarathi, Secretary-Tourism Jayesh Ranjan, Managing Director, AP Tourism Development Corporation B. Venkatesam. Film makers who attended the meeting included G. Adiseshagiri Rao, K.C. Sekhar Babu, M. Shyamprasad Reddy and Y. Supriya.
