The film ‘Gayam’ directed by Ram Gopal Varma in the year 1993 became a landmark film in Jagapathi Babu’s career. Now RGV’s disciple Praveen Sri is going to direct the sequel to it with the title ‘Gayam 2’ featuring Jagapathi Babu again. The film will be produced under Kartha Creations banner. The formal pooja was held for the script at Daiva Sannidhanam in Film Nagar, Hyderabad on December 2nd. In the process senior producer VB Rajendra Prasad handed over the script to debutant director Praveen Sri.
On the occasion Jagapathi Babu said, “I had a brand for playing soft roles until ‘Gayam’ happened. This film had fetched me a good name as an action hero. Now, we are going to make ‘Gayam 2’ as its sequel. But it is going to be an ideal sequel for the original version.”
Director Praveen Sri while speaking, “We are planning to start the regular shooting from the end of December. The shooting will be held at Hyderabad, Vizag and also in overseas. The producers are planning to release the film by 1st week of April. Right now, selections for cast and crew are taking place.”
